BBQLA, in association with Yautepec Gallery (Mexico City), is proud to present a solo exhibition with the collaborative duo SANGREE (René Godínez Pozas and Carlos Lara). Pozas and Lara explore the role of humanism throughout history and nature by utilizing performance, installation and sculpture. For this exhibition, the artists present an investigation into the social and aesthetic components of a traditional barbecue through the creation of charcoal works and an altar-grill.

SANGREE is an artistic collaboration between René Godínez Pozas (Mexico City, 1986) and Carlos Lara (Mexico City, 1985). The duo’s practice takes a transdisciplinary approach toward art history, anthropology, pop culture phenomena, and some of humankind’s most fundamental concerns.

SANGREE lives and works in Mexico City.

Current and recent solo exhibitions include Piedra Temporal, Sala de Arte Público (SAPS), Mexico City, Mexico; Unclassified Site Museum, Black Cube Nomadic Museum, Denver, CO, USA; Fingerprints of the Gods, Et Al. Etc., San Francisco, CA, USA; Murmurs of Earth, Museo Universitario del Chopo, Mexico City, Mexico; and RING BELL, SUN, 21EARTH, at Yautepec, Mexico City, Mexico.
